We’re celebrating Queer Mafia’s 3rd BIRTHDAY this Saturday April 18th. Time flies when you’re having fun!!! We (the QM crew) are so grateful & honored to be apart of such a vibrant community. We are just a wee gaggle of queer pals but with your support we put our whole hearts into raising good vibes and funds while building our community together. A huge thank you for your ongoing love over the past 3 years. Now it’s time to celebrate!! The DJs are coming prepped to throw it all down on the dance floor. It will be jammed. It will be sweaty. Reach early. Leave late. Jam time….let’s go!

Spring is springing and we wanna party and dance and PARTY! Come dance the night away while DJ Pat Johnson & PALM D’OR play all those 1990’s tracks we love to sing along too. 90’s hip hop and R&B all night!

The toxic twins; aka DJ Brains4breakfast and Philboy have been throwing the most badass party in the city for years, and it happens the second Friday of every month.  The music is a little hip hop and little glam rock and in combination it is a sweaty debaucherous dance party where bad (good and fun) decisions are the rule.  So after a long work week, Grillz Fridays are the perfect way to let off steam and start living for the weekend.  Check out the mayhem of Grillz and Glam this Friday April 10th.  Here are a few photos of Grillz friends and fam from the March edition.

Fresh is community Hip Hop show that brings in some of the arts that build this community from performers to producers to visual artists and DJs. Check it out on Thursday, April 9th.

On Thursday, April 2nd, Babylon and Girls On Top present “Sit With Us”. Come start the Easter long weekend (where no one works Friday) with a super-fun dance party to prove it’s a Girl World. We are going to make fetch happen by only playing the music of female artists, while having the most socially suicidal dance party ever.

DJ Matt Tamblyn will provide the soundtrack celebrating women in pop music: Taylor Swift, Grimes, Lana Del Rey, Sia, Banks, etc. The music will be a lot fabulous and a little evil, so ladies, do your hair big, with lots of secrets, cause “Sit With Us” will butter your muffin. You don’t need ESPN to know this party will be almost as good as all of Danny DeVito’s work. Doors at 11, $5 cover before midnight.

The Soul Jazz Orchestra have been developing the craft of upbeat feel-good music for years. One cannot go to a SJO show and not end up grooving and dancing to the infectious beats and uplifting sounds created by this tight outfit of stellar local musicians. At one point in time, the band played every Thursday night at Babylon. Building on that success they began heavily touring, and North American and European audiences cannot get enough of their live shows. They have received a multitude of acclaim in many genres, cause they are that good in all of them. The only label they need is celebration cause that is the undeniable result of the band working it on stage for all people to enjoy. Come check out a truly excellent live show that is beyond any standard labels. Expect another sold out SJO show on Saturday, March 28th, come early to make sure you don’t miss the joy provided by this Ottawa dance band.

This Thursday, March 26th Babylon is bringing back that ragga vibe with multi Juno award winner Exco Levi. Levi is such a force in reggae in this country he has won the Juno in ‘12, ‘13, ‘14, and yet again in 2015. Internationally he has also received attention from his work with Richie Stephens, and Silly Walks. Come give big ups to a reggae history maker and get ready to dance until your feet are swollen. Let’s get back to some Babylon roots, this Thursday it will be all about rice and peace.
