FRENZY October Edition, with the makeup appearance of Ottawa favourite, Tommy Kruise! Our last show with Tommy (Just Rap tour w/ Ryan Hemsworth) saw Tommy’s set cut short due to equipment technical issues – and he has since wanted to come back & show FRENZY what he had in store for us that night. Now is that time… the re-up date!


Ottawa’s super-talented funk masters, The Soul Jazz Orchestra are about to embark on (another) huge tour. They are road warriors who represent our city as ambassadors of good vibes everywhere they go. And when they play live, the gloves of good-will come off, and they slay the dance floor leaving all in their wake sweaty and fully satisfied. Come out to the launch tour show of the new album “Resistance” on Saturday, September 26th and send the hardest working band off in style.


This Thursday, September 24th Babylon is proud to welcome back Madchild ( Van., Swollen Members). Madchild had unleashed his new album “Silver Tongue Devil” (July 24th), and is now touring and ripping cities apart. Fellow Battle Axe Warrior Demrick and Saskatchewan based emcee Pimpton have joined The General on his trek across the country. Special thanks to Diamond Mine Agency for another stellar hip hop booking at Babylon. Doors at 9, tons of great local talent, don’t sleep.


This Saturday, September 19th our third Saturday monthly event, Offbeat, is the joining forces with the Ottawa Burlesque Festival for one night of all out dance floor fun and debauchery. Offbeat is always a ripping good time, but also being the official after-party to the Burlesque Fest  should take it right over the top. Come out to cavort the night away with all those who love an avant garde celebration of arts and culture in our great city. DJ Kitty Funk will be playing all the hits for this one.


School’s in session, but put those books away for Ottawa’s #1 1990’s Hip Hop and RNB dance party at Babylon on Friday, September 18th. Everything from Destiny’s Child to Biggy, Mariah and Ghostface being played by the best DJs ever all night long!


On Saturday, September 12th A Tribe Called Red is excited to welcome all the new students and welcome back the students who’ve been coming to their parties for years!!!
ATCR has been super busy this summer playing festivals, First Nations reserves, dropping EP’s, appearing in iPhone ads, but it all comes back to the Electric Pow Wow at Babs where it first began. Come celebrate the home base monthly party, second Saturday of every month, for the increasingly popular and successful ATCR.


Oh NO NO NO NO NO kids summer aint over yet and we got the party to prove it. Come join us this Friday, September 11th as we party our faces off in the name off summer, just in case you guys are wondering how we plan on backing this fuck fall smack talk this is how its going down.

First off we are opening our doors at 10 so the our pal Joseph Perry and his band DEAR BLACKWOLF can rock a very loud opening set of bitchin rumble music to celebrate there album release. Next up we have your boy Dj Illo and first timer and long over due guest Alex Edwards (dj magnificent) pretty destroying the dance floor till hours of the evening.


With all the energy that surrounds House of Paint, none quite compares to the engaging experience of the the festival’s newest performance event, the OG 500 Poetry Slam. Introduced in 2012, the OG 500 is a spoken word showcase that hosts a concert by a renowned feature artist followed by an intense three round cypher of words, wits and theatre. 12 of some of the best wordsmiths you’ll hear this side of the border compete in a head to head battle to let their pen speak, and one winner is crowned at the end of the night with the status of the HoP OG Slam Champ and a $500 reward! Check the event out on Thursday, September 10th.

Following the OG 500 Poetry Slam, House Of PainT has also teamed up with the Ottawa Beat League to put on the 3rd installment of the OBL beat battles. Featured acts are City Fidelia (ONF) and Raz Fresco (Duckdown Records, BakersClub).


Mod Club Sundays long weekend parties of some of the best of the entire year. The biggest and raddest of the run are coming up; Labour Day Long weekend (this Sunday September 6th) and Thanksgiving Sunday (Sunday October 11th).

Mod Club would like to thank those faithful followers who have supported this awesome weekly for more than 10 years, and welcomes all the new students back to Ottawa and hopes to be a Sunday destination to unwind with friends in a safe and comfortable environment. This Saturday we are celebrating the mad skills of the Queen B, at the Bey Bey (all Beyoncé and friends, all night long) dance party. Bey Bey has quickly become one of Ottawa’s best and busiest dance parties. Huge thanks to Cynthia Promotions for putting together such a terrific night of fun for everyone. The awesome trio of DJ’s Foster, Max Zimmerman and Jimmy C will be keeping the masses dancing like nobody’s watching, cause nobody’s watching; they are too busy having a time of their lives with friends.
